The center seeks to fill multiple postdoctoral positions in the fields of Astronomy & Astrophysics to commence in 2019-2020.
Multiple postdoctoral positions in Astronomy & Astrophysics at the HCTPA
Applications from all fields of astrophysics and astronomy are encouraged. Prior experience with ground observations and data analysis (e.g., telescope operation, photometry, spectroscopy, time-series analysis, reverberation mapping), or with "gastrophysics" (e.g., the physics of the interstellar and intergalactic media, photoionization, hydrodynamic simulations, radiative transfer) and the physics of AGN, is of particular relevance to this call.
The successful candidates will be offered a competitive scholarship, relocation expenses, computer facilities, and travel funds, and will be encouraged to pursue independent research. They will be expected to contribute to and broaden ongoing research at the aforementioned institutes, and work with Prof. Doron Chelouche (UH) on topics related to the observational and theoretical study of AGN and galaxies over a broad range of scales: from the innermost regions around supermassive black holes and out to circum- and inter-galactic scales.
