mangesh mandlik

Mangesh graduated from the TIFR in Mumbai, and has joined the center in 2018. His research interests include geneal relativity, hydrodynamics, and string theory. In particular, he is currently working on 'the membrane paradigm at large D', which is based on the observation that in very large number of spacetime dimensions each of the black hole solutions is equivalent to a codimension one membrane in the flat spacetime with the same number of dimensions. The dynamics of the membrane is given by conservation of a stress tensor (and a charge current) defined on this membrane, and this stress tensor (and charge current) can be systematically evaluated perturbatively in 1/D. He is also working on the effective action for hydrodynamics. He worked in the past on the level- rank duality of scattering matrices in large N Chern Simons matter theories, and Wald entropy for higher order gravity.
